The Power Of Believing

Just over a century ago, people scoffed at the idea of a “horseless carriage”. While others think it can be done, they also maintain that it would just be a luxury that only wealthy people would be able to avail. The same is true with the idea of air transport, ability to fly like a bird. The general public during those times has the common attitude of unbelief regarding new ideas to a certain degree that the ideas of horseless carriage and air transport were impossible to achieve.

At this present age, horseless carriage and air transport are common sights that have gone through series of evolution. So every time you hop into your car or take a flight on an airplane, you should utter a word of thanksgiving to those people who were never discouraged by the people’s unbelief over their new and revolutionary ideas during their time.

As Napoleon Hill aptly put it, “whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve”.

How Can Belief Affect MLM Success?

Believing is a state of mind regarding an idea to be true. It is an “Inner knowing” that a certain situation can be achieved or a particular object can be created.
Most of the people involved in the MLM industry are well aware of the nature of the business. MLM business is primarily about creating leaders and getting other people to duplicate. Those who say otherwise are either telling a lie or simply misinformed. Now, the reason why you are in MLM business is as unique as the individuals involved in the MLM industry.



There is no hard and fast rule or formula for success in the MLM business. Success in the MLM industry comes as a result of the convergence of people, places and events favourable to you. Nonetheless, there are some considerations that you must practice that can give tremendous help in achieving MLM success. One of the main factors worthy of consideration is your belief.

All the successful people in the MLM industry first believed that they can be successful. Obvious but often neglected and not practised.

I. MLM Success Belief in You – If you believe in yourself, then half of the battle is already won. Believing that you have what it takes to succeed in the MLM industry boosts your confidence to set high goals knowing that you have all the tools needed to achieve them. If you do not believe in yourself, then you have no courage to do anything extraordinary because at the back of your mind you doubt that you will be able to achieve it, hence, you will not be inspired to think of ways and means to bring great things to completion because you do not see how it can be accomplished. Lack of belief will filter down the action you will take or not take.

II. MLM Success Belief in MLM Industry – MLM is a business strategy formulated to create business opportunities for the fast transmission of products or services to generate income. If you do not believe that this business strategy is the best way for you to generate income, then it will effect your performance. III. MLM Success Belief in MLM Company – Before joining an MLM company, it is expected of you to have done yourself a full and solid due diligence on the company you will be working with. If you have no or little belief in the MLM company you are working with, chances are you will jump ship soon. Or it will just be a waste of time, money and effort on your part. Do a thorough research.


IV. MLM Success Belief in Product and/ or Services – If the product or services of the MLM company you work for is something that you will buy even if you are not working for that company, then you are in the right company. If you cannot convince yourself to use or buy the product, how can you convince others to do so? Again there are some principles that will help you select the right company.

Contemplating a Career Change

No matter what kind of work you do, don’t be surprised if there comes a time when you think of switching careers. After all, many of us have romanticized ideas about one career or another.
Maybe you always thought you’d be a teacher, a crime scene investigator, a sales clerk at that little boutique down the street, or a hospital nurse. But things didn’t go that way and you ended up doing something else instead.

However, now you’ve reached a point where you’re seriously considering a career change. Maybe you got laid off or worked for a company that closed during the economic downturn. Or you might just be looking to change what you do to earn money. Before you take the plunge, do your homework.

Consider these issues whenever you’re contemplating a career change

1. What kind of work do you want to do? Do you have a couple of top choices or just one? If you’re considering a career change, you may already know the answer to this question.

2. Is the job you want to do within your reach? See if you can simply build on what you already know to pursue a new job.
* If you’re 40 years old and have no college education and want to be a doctor, that might be an overly ambitious goal. However, if you’ve already got a bachelors’ degree in business and you want to be a nurse, you could probably complete 2 or 3 more years of education to obtain your nursing degree.

3. Does the career you want require training or education? Education requires energy and drive. Do you have that for your dream career?

4. Interview someone who has the job. Write down all the questions you have about the career path. If you know someone personally who has the job you long for, give him a call. People love to talk about what they know.

5. Research the career on the internet. You’ll find a wealth of information online on every kind of job.

6. Check into local resources. If you need coursework or technical training, find out where you can get it in your town or one nearby.

7. Look into your local prospects. Are there local jobs available in the field? Unless you’re willing to move for your job, ensure you’d be able to do the work where you’re now living.

8. Consider costs involved with re-education and training. If you have some savings, there’s nothing better to invest in than your future. Depending on the field that interests you, you might even be able to obtain grants to complete coursework or training requirements.

9. Assess your time commitment. How much time will you need to prepare to look for work in the field? Depending on the career you’re considering, you might be able to start right away. Or your dream job might require three or four years of education or training first.

10. Just do it! One of the most exciting experiences you’ll ever have is engaging in the work of your dreams. Although you might feel some initial fear and apprehension about making a career change, you’ll find yourself also full of joy and anticipating your future with great excitement.



You may already have the answers to all of your questions. You may know intuitively what’s right for you. If that’s the case, then go out there and snag your dream job! If not, spend some time looking over these suggestions and get started on your preparations. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll be enjoying your new career.

Spot the mistake


Why networking is important

It’s not what you know, but who you know.  Who you know can mean the difference in whether or not you end up reaching your future dreams and goals. 

There are so many reasons why networking is important, personally and professionally.  Whether you want to stand out from the crowd during your job search, rise the ranks at your current company or just have a good support network to be there for you when you need it.

No matter where you are in life, you can’t get around the fact that networking is crucial to your success and personal well being.


So what are the barriers that might be holding you back from networking? 
 
 
 

1.     The first barrier that might be in your way is that you never know what to say.  I hate that awkward introduction and I not knowing what to say to people I don’t know.  The key here is to be genuine, not think about yourself and what you are going to talk about and instead think about what you want to ask and learn about other people instead.  People are just as scared as you in the room and why not make others feel better and take the focus off of you and onto them. 


2.     Another barrier may be if you are an introvert. An introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.  If you are an introvert like me, it is hard to be open and let strangers into your life.  To network, you have to be open and curious.  You must also show up and be present in all conversations.  Sometimes the hardest part is getting to the event but you will be glad you did once you get there.  Meet one person and start speaking with them and asking questions.  This way, it will be easier to meet others since you know one person very well.  Also, don't be afraid to speak up if you have something to say. 

 
3.     Another barrier is thinking you are way too busy to network I know I am exhausted after work. This was my biggest pitfall.  I am often too busy with work and school to reach out and connect with someone over lunch or a quick dinner.  You have to make networking a priority, which is why I always scheduled networking events and meetings into my calendar so that I got in the habit of meeting people for lunch or dinner and not going directly home after work.



I hope I’ve convinced you of how critical networking is for anyone considering going pro. 

Remember, networking is just the start. What it’s really about is building relationships and making connections.
